Conservatives, “Recovering Republicans”? or Post-Partisan?

Boris in Miami – October 14, 2010

Just ran across the “God, Family, Republic” a Conservative Christian site with lots of very well thought out and well researched articles from a religious perspective. We found that while we don’t agree with all the opinions on it, the site is extremely pro-constitutional-governance and advocates for the return of Law and responsibility to government.  We will certainly keep returning to it.

It seems that as many people in the Tea Party movement, they have realized that the path to Restoring the Republic is through principles, not through the (R) party that on most occasions only gives lip service to it.  We were happy to see that they had embraced post-partisanship and were selecting their candidates on principle alone… but then as we kept reading, we found that the site, or its editor, is not in fact advocating post-partisanship, and that it has instead just switched its support to the Constitution Party.

Of course there’s a fair share of principled candidates in the Constitution Party, but as their editor titled one of his articles, Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Do they not realize that political parties are not the solution? Have they not seen that just like any other organization, political parties deteriorate as they get bigger?  Do they not see that we have wonderful pro-Constitution candidates running Independent, Libertarian and even Republican!?

It is our hope that the Tea Party and Freedom Movement move beyond the confines of the political parties and embrace the Liberty Principles regardless of the party the candidate might run under. Let’s once again take the power away from the powerful parties and bring it back to those principled candidates and the people they represent!

It is our hope that the Tea Party can be… Post-Partisan… Pro-Liberty… and vote American, not party!

In this article John Lofton, talks about a part of his recovery process:

Needless to say that, as a “Recovering Republican,” serious trauma was caused when I ran across this political pornography from my past in a drawer I had not opened in decades — a past from which I am still recovering because having once been a Republican is something…well, you never FULLY….you never FULLY….let’s just say that, like shingles, it never goes completely away.

Oh, well, at least these credentials show I’m not faking a recovery; I’ve been telling the truth. I was, at one time, prior to being a Christian, a Republican. And, lest I be misunderstood: Being a Republican is NOT a disease. It is a CHOICE — a very bad choice but a choice nonetheless. So, never let anyone play the victim card re: their Republicanism.

[The is a post-partisan website for news aggregation, and commentary, powered by the community of the Tea Party and Freedom Movement, for the discussion on the philosophy of Liberty as advocated by Jefferson, to ‘Restore the Constitutional Republic!” We hope that you join us in this effort and help us by posting pertinent articles and commentary.]

  1. You, yourself are messing shouldn’t you be?

  2. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people think about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
